About

I am currently a PhD candidate in Japanese Literature at the University of Hawaii at Manoa.  My research focuses mainly on Edo period and modern Japanese literature, but I also have a side interest in video game (what I call interactive narratives) analysis.  This blog is intended as a place where I can post the miscellany I don’t know what to do with.  That could be anything from “hey, this quote is cool!” to a whole article that I don’t quite have the time to work into something publishable.

Also, since I’m working on my dissertation as I start this blog, I’m hoping it will also serve as a change of pace; a chance to write a little more freely and focus on something else every once in a while.  Updates will be sporadic, sorry.
